Take the Seibu Ikebukuro Line Express train from Ikebukuro Station at 9:04AM. This arrives at Hanno Station (the final destination) at 10:00AM. Change here to the Seibu Chichibu Line (which leaves at 10:04) and get off at Higashi Agano Station (arriving at 10:19AM). The train costs \540.

Meet on the front of the 9:04 train at Ikebukuro if you want to go from there there. David will get on the first car of the same train at Tokorozawa Station.

Hiking Course: Higashi Agano Station – Yugate – Mt. Okami – Kaburi Pass – Agano Station The hiking time is about 4.5 hours.

Today’s hiking has two parts. The first part is not so difficult and is a four hour hike. We meet at Miyanohira Station at 9:00AM. Take the 7:52AM Chuo Line Express train from Shinjuku Station. This arrives at Tachikawa Station at 8:17AM. Change there to the 8:20 Ome Line train (you have to hurry as it’s on another platform). Take this to the end (Ome Station), arriving there at 8:55AM and go across the platform and take the 8:56AM train towards Okutama. This train arrives at MiyanoHira Station at 8:59AM. Be sure to arrive by this time since we will be unable to wait for the next train. From here, we hike on the Oome Ridge Hiking Course and then go down to Ikusabata Station. We will meet other people there at 1:22PM for the following river hike.

Meet on the front of the 7:52 Chuo Line train at Shinjuku if you want to go from there there. David will get on the first car of the same train at Mitaka Station.

Walking time is 4 hours,　We will hike from Yorokeikoku Station．This area is the most　beautiful　area in Chiba for the Autumn colors (especially the Maple Trees).　We will go through the Maple tree valley area, which is fｕｌｌ　of yellow，red, and orange colored leaves. We will also go to the Daifukuyama observation platform (285m), You can see a wonderful view of the surrounding natural environment.

☆ Hiking　Route:

Yorokeikoku Station（0.7km）-Hoei Bridge （1.8km）-Amagakura （2.9km）-Daihuku yama observatory -Maple valley-Umegase valley （Amagakura-Umegase Valley 4.2ｋｍ)

☆ Meeting place and time：Meet at 10:25 at Yorokeikoku Station’s ticket gate or the entrance to the Kominato Railway at Goi Station at 9:18AM

Hiking in Chichibu! (Hitsujiyama Park with many colored beautiful “grass flowered carpet”)

We will meet at Seibu Chichibu Station’s ticket gate at 11:00AM or on the middle of the Seibu Ikebukuro Line platform at Ikebukuro Station at 9:00AM. Take the 9:05AM Seibu Ikebukuro Line express train (going towards Hanno) at Ikebukuro Station. This arrives at Hanno Station at 10:01AM. From here, take the 10:04AM Seibu Chichibu Line train going towards Chichibu. This arrives at Chichibu Station at 10:57AM. Be sure to arrive by this time since we will be unable to wait for the next train.

Actual walking time is about 4 hours, eventually going to Hitsugiyama Park, where the different colored flowers of the “grass sakura” are in bloom and form a large carpet of beauty, and end up at Seibu Chichibu Station.

OUME HIKING & AZALEA FESTIVAL! (Intermediate Course) (\500 Participation Fee) (Cancelled in case of rain) NEW!

We meet at Miyanohira Station at 10:15AM. Take the 9:08AM Oume Line Express train (it’s a Chuo Line train that goes all the way to Oume) from Shinjuku Station. This arrives at Oume Station at 10:07. Go across the platform and take the 10:09 train towards Okutama. This train arrives at MiyanoHira Station at 10:12. Be sure to arrive by this time since we will be unable to wait for the next train.

Meet on the front of the 9:08 train at Shinjuku if you want to go from there there. David will get on the first car of the same train at Nakano Station.

Hiking Course – Miya no Hira Station – Umahikizawa Pass – Kyunitsuka Pass – Oume – Shiofune Goddess of Mercy Azalea Festival – Higashi Oume Station

Today’s hiking is about 5 hours. It finishes off at the Shiofune Temple, which has 17,000 red, white and purple Azaleas. Should be gorgeous!!!

Please wear appropriate shoes (tennis shoes, hiking boots), bring a lunch to eat on the mountain, and plenty of liquids.

June 6 (Sunday) Hike in Tanzawa – Mt. Sannotou (1205M) (Average) Participation Fee 500 yen)(Canceled in case of rain)

Bring your own beverages and lunch box.

Hadano Station – Yabitsu Pass (by bus) – Mt. Ninotou – Mt Sannotou – Usikubi – Okura – Hadano Togawa Park (where the Hydrongea may be in bloom) – Shibusawa Station (15 minutes by bus)

The total walking time for the hike will be about five hours.

Take the following train!
Shinjuku Station (Odakyu Line Express) 7:50AM – Hadano (arriving at 9:02AM)

If you’d like to go from Shinjuku, get on the front of the 7:50 Odakyu Line train at Shinjuku Station.
David will get on the first car at that same train at Shimo Kitazawa Station.

We will meet at the gate ofHadano station (Odakyu line) at9:05 AM and take the bus which leaves for Yabitsu Pass from Hadano Station at 9:20 AM.

Please remember, this bus for climbers is the final one to get there, so DEFINITELY get on the above train.

The view from the peak of Mt Sannotou is quite outstanding, which means we should be able to enjoy a splendid panorama.

Change at Kitano (arriving at 9:59, cross the platform and get on the 10:00 train going towards Takaosanguchi) and go to Takao station, arriving at 10:10AM. Change at Takao Station to the Chuo Line. Take the 10:18AM train going towards Ootsuki and get off at Ootsuki Station, arriving at 10:55AM. Using these trains, the total cost comes to 920 yen.

Hiking up a mountain to 924 meters and along a ridge to the Hakone Yumoto area. Views of Mt. Fuji and Lake Ashinoko, Temples, and a lot of Japanese Pompass Grass

Hiking Course: Gora Station (by the interesting, scenic old train) – Myojogatake – Touno Mine – Hakone Yumoto

This course is about 5.5 hours of walking.

From Shinjuku Station, take the 7:50AM Odakyu Line Express, which arrives in Odawara at 9:27AM. From there, get on the Hakone Tetsudo (old scenic train), arriving at Hakone Yumoto at 9:48. Change there, to another Hakone Tetsudo train going to Goura, leaving at 9:51 and arriving at Goura at 10:33AM. Please don’t miss these trains.

Part 1

Course: Kawai Station – Mt. Iwatakeishi – Mt. Takamizu- Ikusabata Station

Meeting Place/Time: Kawai Station Ticket Gate at 8:50AM

We meet at Kawai Station at 8:50AM. Take the 7:07AM Chuo Line Express train from Shinjuku Station. This arrives at Tachikawa Station at 7:43AM. Change there to the 7:51 Ome Line train. Take this to the end (Ome Station), arriving there at 8:24AM and go across the platform and take the 8:26AM train towards Okutama. This train arrives at Kawai Station at 8:49AM. Be sure to arrive by this time since we will be unable to wait for the next train. From here, we do a 4 hour hike to Ikusabata Station. We will meet other people there at 1:02PM for the following river hike.

David will get on the Oume Line train at Haijima Station at 8:06.

Part 2

A refreshing walk along the river in Okutama viewing the fall colors!

Meeting Place and Time: The ticket gate of Ikusabata Station (on the Ome Line) at 13:05PM
(For those going there from Tachikawa, board the 12:15PM train going to Oume. This arrives in Oume at 12:46. Change in Oume to the 12:51 train going to Okutama and get off at Ikusabata at 13:02PM.)

Take a walk along the river and see the fall colors. An easy hike especially for children!
Bring a lunch and liquids.

We will meet at the ticket gate of Higashi Zushi Station at 9:55AM. Please take the following train.

From Shinjuku, take the 9:11 express Odakyuu Line train (going towards Odawara) to Shin-Matsuda (arriving at 10:35AM). Walk to Matsuda Station (which has the JR Gotemba Line) and get on the 10:44 train. This train arrives at Surugaoyama at 11:03 AM.
(DEFINITELY get on this train because we can’t wait for the next one since they are infrequent.)
 
We will hike from the station to the Yuujo Waterfall, then to the Choushi Gorge, and return to Ashigara Station (on the Gotemba Line). The hiking time
itself is about 4 hours.

Walking Time: about 4 hours

Change to the 10:04 Seibu Chichibu Line train, and get off at Shomaru (arriving at 10:34). Make sure to get on this train as we cannot wait for the next one. We’ll meet at the ticket gate there at 10:35AM.

Meet on the front of the 9:05 train at Ikebukuro if you want to go from there. David will get on this train from Tokorozawa Station.

  We will have a 4.5 hour hike that takes us up 2 low mountains and around a big lake (Tsuburada Lake) surrounded by cherry trees.

From Ikebukuro, take the  Tobu Tojo (Express) Line’s 9:30AM train and get off at Ogawamachi Station, arriving at 10:40AM. Change here to the local train going the same direction towards Yorii, getting on the 10:43 train which arrives at Yorii Station at 10:58AM. People going from Ikebukuro Station can meet at the front end of the train on the Tobu Tojo Line platform at 9:28, or meet at Yorii’s ticket gate at 11:00.

We will meet at the ticket gate of Higashi Moro at 10:10AM.　From Ikebukuro, take the Tobu Tojo Line’s Express Train at 9:01 and　change at Sakado (arriving here at 9:45) to the Tobu　Ogose Line. Take the 9:54AM Tobu Ogose Line train to Higashi Moro　Station. It arrives there at 10:09AM.　
If you’d like to go together from Ikebukuro, get on the front of the 9:01 Tobu Tojo Line train from there.

The walking time itself is about 4 hours.　Should　be a lot of fun! The train fare is 630 Yen one-way from Ikebukuro.　

If it rains, we will go to the Showa Park Flower Festival, meeting at the Nishi Tachikawa (Ome Line) ticket gate at 11:27AM. (There will be no JAMBO fee but the park entrance fee is 400 Yen)

We will meet at the Odakyu Line Ticket Gate at Odawara at 9:48 AM.
8:18  Depart Shinjuku on the Odakyu Line (Special Express going towards Enoshima) and get off at SagamiOno (arriving at 8:50).  Change to the 8:51 express train going towards Odawara.  This arrives at Odawara at 9:46.
If you’d like to go from Shinjuku, get on the front of the 8:18 Odakyu Line train at Shinjuku Station.
David will get on the first car at the next station (Yoyogi Uehara).
Course:  Odawara Station – Ikoi Forest – Oohatake Goddess of Mercy – Kyofuku Temple – Sakawa Beach (Garbage clean-up and fun) – Odawara Station
The total walking time for the hike will be about 4 hours.

After the hike, from 3:00 – 5:00PM, we will do a garbage clean-up on the beach and have some beach fun, and maybe say goodbye to the sun until the next day.

Meeting Time & Place: 10:30AM at Nishi Agano Station’s ticket gate
Take the Seibu Ikebukuro Line Express train from Ikebukuro Station at 9:04AM. This arrives at Hanno Station (the final destination) at 10:00AM. Change here to the Seibu Chichibu Line (which leaves at 10:04 just across the platform) and get off at Nishi Agano Station (arriving at 10:29AM). (Definitely arrive at this time!) The train costs \610.

Meet on the front of the 9:04 Seibu Ikebukuro Line train at Ikebukuro if you want to go from there there.

Hiking Course: Nishi Agano Station – Ogi no Daira – Shirataki Waterfall – Fudou Waterfall – Big Waterfall – Nishi Agano Station The hiking time is about 5 hours.

Please bring your lunch and drink.

Course: Ogose Station - Mt. Ootakatori – Ogose Nature Center – Hydrongea Road Hydrongea Mountain Park - Ogose Station (by bus – 280 yen)
 
From Ikebukuro, take the  Tobu Tojo (Express) Line’s 8:49AM train and get off at Sakado Station, arriving at 9:33AM. Change here to the local train going to Ogose, getting on the 9:40 train which arrives at Ogose Station at 9:58AM. Make sure to get on this train as we cannot wait for the next one.
